The Alkali Flat Trail is a challenging 6.77-kilometer loop trail through the heart of White Sands National Park's stunning gypsum dunefield, reaching an elevation of 1,208 meters. This marked trail crosses pure white dunes and offers spectacular views of the San Andres Mountains, leading hikers to the edge of Lake Lucero's ancient lakebed where the stunning white sands originated.
