On Virginia's beautiful Eastern Shore, which was explored by Capt. John Smith in 1608, Kiptopeke offers recreational access to the Chesapeake Bay as well as an opportunity to explore unique migratory bird habitat along the Atlantic flyway. The park offers five new sun-filled cabins that sleep 16, RV and tent camping, a group camping lodge, a yurt (part cabin, part tent) and camping trailers. There's also a boat ramp, a lighted fishing pier, picnic areas, 4.2 miles of hiking and biking trails, a playground, a beach bathhouse and a swimming beach. Seasonal interpretive and educational programs focus on natural history, birding and bay ecology.
